My favorite book of the Bible is Revelation, because it’s so intriguing to look at all the things that God will do – and yet so many people will not understand – and will be deceived.  And it’s not just at the end – it’s now too.  The price to pay for this deception – devotion to Satan, the second death, an eternity in the place where God isn’t: quite literally, Hell.

It’s a scary thought.

But here it is, from Revelation 20:11-15 -

Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Why?

The alternative is described in Revelation 21 -

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”  (v 1-4 NIV)

I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it. Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.  (v 22-27 NIV)

Which would you prefer?  To be in the Lamb’s book of life – or not be there?  For me the choice, although it took a really long time to appreciate it, is quite certain.  To be there.

So why am I doing it?  It’s because of those verses at the top of my home page:  Exodus 20:3 (aka the 1st commandment) and John 3:16.  Because of my belief, I want the same for you as well.  It’s that simple.  There’s so much in this world that will say things like God doesn’t exist – God can’t take care of you – God didn’t really say that.  There’s only one way to know the Truth when you hear or see things like that.  Check it out.  That’s what this site is about – getting you interested in checking it out – helping you to discover the Truth, not because I said it, but because He did.

God is looking for you. You’re looking for Him.  It’s quite literally the match made in Heaven.  It’s one heck of a journey – take it.  Knock on His door – He will open it.  But don’t take my word for it.  Here’s the promise, straight from Jesus:

“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.  Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

(Luke 11:9-13 NIV)
